2006 National Convention Highlights

The 2006 National Convention was held in Charleston, South Carolina.

The 102nd National Convention was well attended by carriers from throughout the nation, including 46 Delegates from the State of Illinois.

Our National Officers conveyed to the membership that they are prepared and ready for contract negotiations.  Remember our contract agreement with the USPS expires in November of this year.  The officers informed the membership that they have been consulting with experts on mileage and time standards and are ready to push up their shirt sleeves and get to work on our behalf.

Remember that all unions are negotiating this year which could get really interesting!

There were 20 C & B presented with four passed and the remainder failing.  The one big C & B was submitted to hold convention every two years and after much discussion it failed to receive the 2/3 vote approval to pass.

There were 139 Non-binding Resolutions.  Of the 11 Binding Resolutions, four passed and one was withdrawn.  Of the 139 Non-binding Resolutions, 64 were passed.

Your national magazine will have complete coverage.
