• 2008 NATIONAL CONVENTION
• AUGUST 5 - 9, 2008 - Lexington, Kentucky - Convention Chair is Frankie Hunt and Co-Chair is Betty Goodrich. The Hyatt Regency Lexington will be the headquarters hotel. The Radisson Plaza Hotel Lexington will be the venue for all Auxiliary and Junior Auxiliary meetings. the business sessions for the Association and all other meetnigs and functions will be held at the Hyatt Regency and the Lexington Convention Center. The Hyatt and the convention center are connected to each other, making it convenient for all delegates. Overflow hotels are: Radisson Plaza Hotel, Lexington and the Crowne Plaza Lexington/Campbell House. The Radisson is located across teh street from the Hyatt and convention center and the Crowne Plaza is several blocks away. Shuttles will be provided from the Crowne Plaze. All room rates range from $99 to $122 a night plus taxes, and come with the usual amenities. A pre convention issue for national convention will be published in mid-May with full details. Wednesday night's banquet is featuring The Oak Ridge Boys.

WHERE: FORT KASKASKIA STATE HISTORIC SITE

WHEN: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2008

Fort Kaskaskia is situated on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River and offers scenic views of the American Bottoms, the confluence of the Mississippi and Kaskaskia rivers, and the site of the original town of Kaskaskia, which was once the first state capitol of Illinois. Directions: Fort Kaskaskia State Historic Site is located near the town of Ellis Grove, IL, about an hour and 15 minute drive south of St. Louis. Take IL-3 approximately 5 miles south of Ellis Grove to Park Road. Go west on Park Road to Fort Kaskaskia State Historic Site. (7.38 miles northwest of Chester)
Lunch will be served at 12:30. Ice tea and coffee will be furnished. Please bring your own table service and a covered dish. Don’t forget your lawn chairs and camera.

There will be a short meeting for Association and Auxiliary members following lunch. Bring your family and enjoy the day with your rural carrier family!
